Want to enjoy the beach without getting wet? Crescent Beach at Siesta Key's large expanse of sand is the perfect place to ride a cruiser bike especially at sunset or early morning. The beach is 3 miles long. You are permitted to ride sidewalks and we have bicycle lanes on most of the island. One thing is certain.. Whatever your outdoor recreational sport is, you'll find it here.

Siesta Beach is known as one of the most beautiful beaches found anywhere. At the "Great International White Sand Beach Challenge", Siesta Beach was recognized as having the, "whitest and finest sand in the world." Shallow water depth in the near shore areas together with year round lifeguard protection, make this one of the safest most popular beaches in the County.

Turtle Beach is located on Midnight Pass Road near the south end of Siesta Key. In the center of the park sits Blind Pass Lagoon which connects to Little Sarasota Bay. Boat ramps allow easy access to and from the bay.

Palmer Point Beach begins at the southern tip of Siesta Key and continues onto the north end of Casey Key. This beach will give you a feeling of privacy and seclusion. It is a beautiful, gentle sloping beach with a pristine dune system. The beach is a popular spot for boaters and people who like to walk along the shore from Turtle Beach. Two things to make note of if you are visiting; there are no Lifeguards on duty, and there are no facilities present.

Siesta Key Boat Rentals operates from Dockside Marine's Siesta Key location. Rentals are available for a full day or a half day (any four consecutive hours). Rates vary depending on the size of the boat. The smallest boat is a 15 foot fishing boat with a 25 hp which accommodates two passengers and largest is a 24 foot pontoon boat with a 90 hp which accommodates up to 13 passengers. All of the boats are equipped with bimini tops. These boats are for use in the bay and intracostal waterway.

The Enterprise is the largest, safest with dry bulkheads and stablest sailing vessel in Sarasota. The Enterprise is a tall, two masted, thriple sail 41 foot sailboat manufactured by the Morgan Yacht Company, the Rolls Royce of Sailboats. The Enterprise, a 41-foot Morgan Out Island 415, is unique in that she is the only 415 Morgan Out Island ever constructed at the Morgan Yacht Factory under Coast Guard specifications for more than six passengers, making her the safest sailboat in Sarasota and truly one of a kind for private or corporate charter use.

Bay Island Park on Siesta Key is a three acre site used primarily for fishing. The portion of this site that is south of the western approach to the Siesta Key bridge.

84 acre Park has three boat ramps, a fishing piers, paved parking area, passive recreation area, there are covered picnic tables, benches and swings to enjoy, as well as rest room facilities. The view of the city skyline and bay are lovely.
Gamble Plantation Historic State Park 26.5 miles (34 minute)

This antebellum mansion was home to Major Robert Gamble and headquarters of an extensive sugar plantation. It is the only surviving plantation house in South Florida. It is believed that Confederate Secretary of State, Judah P. Benjamin, took refuge here after the fall of the Confederacy, until his safe passage to England could be secured. Today, the mansion is furnished in the style of a successful mid-19th century plantation. Guided tours of the house are given six times a day, Thursday through Monday and there are picnic tables on the grounds. The visitor center is open from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Thursday through Monday.
